Carving pumpkins and working out

Actually, painting pumpkins. And not really working out, just sporting the cute Nike outfit.

At home

Things are going well here at home. Eric is back to work but enjoying evenings with his girls. He is outnumbered...and loving it. Eric's mom is in town which has been wonderful. She has been holding Elsie and playing with Jenna, cooking dinner, and doing other random household projects. She has been such a help. I even got to go to Target all by myself this afternoon! Here are some pictures from the last couple days...

Sleeping on her side, all bundled up. Thanks Heidi and Shelley for the swaddling blankets. They are amazing!

Here's Elsie after bathtime. Her hair was starting to look so dark, but then we bathed her and it turned blond again :)

Jenna loves to hold Elsie. Today she decided that it was a good idea to poke her eye. I stopped her before any damage was done. Her explaination to me was, "I was just tryin' to poke her eye."

Today Jenna and Mimi made cupcakes together! Then Mimi taught her how to do the dishes!!!! I don't know why I hadn't thought of that before!

One last picture. Jenna took Elsie's hand and said, "We're best friends."

Jenna loves to hold elsie, and she does a great job at it. Elsie pooped during this sister cuddle session, but Jenna was okay with the weird noises and smells. Now that's love!

Comparison pictures

People have been asking if Elsie looks much like Jenna, so I thought I would show some comparison pictures. From the moment we saw her we could see how very different our girls were. I think you will agree. So, here they are.

Elsie Mae

Here are some photos. More to come. Sister meeting sister was just precious. Jenna kept saying, "Elsie was in your tummy, now she came out!"

At the Hospital

Hey everybody. Just wanted to let you know that everything's going fine. Except that we're having a baby right now! Gotta run!

Let me explain this post. Megan asked me to post a blog about how things were going. I started on a post and Megan started to feel really bad. She called the nurse in and the nurse let us know that Elsie was on her way out! Mayhem ensued...2 more nurses rushed in with all kinds of equipment, including the baby oven. They got all set up and we just waited for Dr. Carter. She finally arrived, Megan pushed three or four times, and Elsie Mae was born. She's completely beautiful. 7lbs 10ozs. 19.5". 3:48. I think that makes Bronwyn the winner (only 2oz, 1", and 1.5 hours off...impressive).

Photos to come when we feel up to it.

Thanks for your prayers. God is good.

Any guesses?

So, what are your guesses? What kind of stats will this baby have? Try to guess weight, length, and time of delivery. I am being induced tomorrow at 6:30am, so that gives you a starting point. The winner gets an awesome prize! Okay, no prize except for the satifaction of being awesome.

Also, I would like to announce to the world that my sister has started a blog! Finally! Here is her site...
Jenne's blog

Remember to leave a comment with your guess!

Doctor Jenna

After Jenna's surgery, we bought her this little doctor kit to play with. In it were these awesome glasses. She always has to wear the glasses to give a shot. It is cute.

For months now when we ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she has said, "a doctor." Thumbs up to you too Jenna. Go for your dreams little one.

We didn't have much time, but went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday and had fun. Jenna wanted to take all the pumpkins home but we grew our own this year so she just carried them around for a while. But she enjoyed that, saying "I am strong stronger I can carry pumpkins!"

Jenna and I, with the big kitty...

Jenna and Daddy....

Here's a pic of my big prego belly. Pardon the facial expression...the sun was in my eyes or something.

38 1/2 weeks.

I had another appointment today and I am measuring the same as last week. No progression. And my doctor is going to be gone the time around my due date so we have scheduled an induction on October 19th. So, unless I go into labor before that, or change my mind about being induced early, we will be having baby Elsie in one week! Crazy.

Learning so much!

I knew they were having fun....

But I had no idea how big of a mess they were making! Wow, there were beans EVERYWHERE. I couldn't take a step without getting a bean stuck between my toes.

I got the beans out for the girls and forgot to remind them of the "bean rules" (try to keep the beans in the bin). I got a phone call and chatted for a few minutes in the kitchen. When I came back to check on the girls, they were taking cupfuls of beans and throwing them across the room. Beans everywhere. They had so much fun :) Good friend making good memories.

Doctor stats

Well, good news from the doctor today! Without being too descriptive, I will just say that things are dialating and softening and doing all the things they should be doing. Hooray!

37 weeks...

This last week has been filled with last minute preparation, major panics (over nothing), very little sleep, and feeling the "I'm ready" feelings that come with the last trimester. I have another appointment tomorrow morning...hopefully we are getting closer to welcoming baby into our home.

Jenna has been making some great strides. She is sleeping through naps totally dry (and with undies on!) and waking up dry in the morning (but not quite consistently enough to take away the pull-ups!). She has actually been playing by herself more these last few days, which has been an encouragement. She often pretends to take baby Elsie out of my tummy and carry her in her little hands until she is ready to put her back into my tummy. I have let her know a few times that once baby Elsie is actually born, she's out of my tummy for good! Her favorite pastimes include dancing and dress-up. She also loves to stack legos, take care of her babies, build little domino stacks, and read books. But most of these things she likes to do WITH us. She is social, and loves to play with others (but at the same time she is quite shy). I guess that is the Jenna update.

I don't like posting without pictures, so here is a picture of Jenna when she was a newborn. Will Elsie look just like her? We will soon find out!
