Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch last week on a beautiful day. It was a week day so the crowds were low, and it was possibly the last day before the rain began. The kids had a lot of fun...

There were some great animals to view, including a chicken with a crazy "hat" (as the girls called it) on, ponies, and crazy huge bunnies.

Elsie's birthday party

Elsie turns THREE on Tuesday so today we had a little family birthday party for her. Sadly she woke up sick this morning, but after a morning nap she was feeling well enough to party. The theme was Toy Story!!

Elsie loves Jessie, Buzz and the space aliens that she calls, "Seekies".
Here's the aliens in the movie, followed by the alien cupcakes...

The girls helped make the cupcakes and decorate them. They kept saying, "Ooooo" as they decorated the seekies.

Opening her gifts (thanks everyone!)

A bike!
Blowing (or spitting) out the candles!
It was a fun party. Elsie felt really good most of the time, but about the time everyone was leaving she started acting sick again. I hope no one catches whatever she has. Happy birthday Elsie, we love you!

One Thousand Gifts

45. My HUSBAND. Ugh, I miss him. He's away for a week and I really like him home :) But I am glad that he is helping his parents and having a great time in the process.

(Here he is with his sister in High School...basketball star!)

46. Peppermint Icecream. Yum.

47. Fall crafts... collecting leaves, making stuff with them...it always turns out so fun and beautiful.

48. An old friend and his wife lost their baby this last summer. I am thankful for them because they are using their loss to start a foundation that will help so many others who experience the same loss by showing them the Gospel and hope and heaven.

49. My friend Jenn who is bringing over a movie and hanging out with my while Eric is gone.
Oh, she's here so I better go!

50. Wait, one more quick one, MY SISTER who is always there for me and a help and best friend.

One Thousand Gifts

39. New chairs for our dining area! A crazy great deal at Salvation Army has allowed us to get some practically NEW chairs for a super bargain!! Now to find the right table... patience will pay off I think and hope!

40. A new believing friend trying to figure out how to follow God daily.

41. My husband, who is understanding, loving, patient, and very kind to me always.

42. Beautiful fall days and evenings.

43. Spending most every moment of sun at a different park! The kids have been loving it and me too!

44. Kids who are so happy in the morning. They rise early, are ready for school and the day without much of the "hurry up!!" talk, allowing for calm mornings. For YEARS I have struggled off and on with their early wake up times, but finally it has truly become a huge blessing in our family. (Remind me of this when they wake at 6:30am on Saturday...)

That's all for now... be thankful today!
