The Party

Three year olds are fun. They have friends. They like very specific things. They say funny stuff. And they are easy to please.

This year we let Jenna choose the theme of her party, and we let her choose a couple of friends to invite (small house = only a few friends). She choose a Princess theme and wanted a Princess cake, and she wanted to dress like a princess for the party. This gets tricky though since she definitely wants her boy cousins to come, along with her good friend Jake. So, we made it a Princess/Pirate party, and it was so fun. Eric had a lot of time off this week so we had a great time going all out for the festivities. Decor included a cardboard box castle, cardboard box pirate ship (with a drawbridge door...I know that doesn't actually work for a ship, but it was really fun), balloons, two homemade cakes (one princess one with a castle and one pirate one). And the party included a treasure hunt, and all the kids came dressed as either a princess or a pirate. It was really fun.

Here are some pictures...

My mom came wearing a crown, and my dad came dressed like this.  It was awesome.
Here are the kids playing in the ship.
Blowing out the candles.  Pirate Davis is in the background.
Here's Princess Peyton mowing the lawn.  See, princesses do normal things.
Princess Ashlynn and Princess Julia playing outside.

And here's Jenna after the party wearing some new dress up clothes she got.  It was such a fun day.
