Here is a picture of Jenna singing a song she made up. She does that a lot. Right now as I type this she is singing a song that goes, "I want my juice-a, with a sippy cup..." She often puts her thoughts to song.

For about a week now, Jenna has been waking up at 6am. I am not sure why. I remember a time (2-3 years ago) that my sister's oldest was waking up really early. She set a clock up for Davis and told him he couldn't come out until the first number was a 7. He would wake at 6am each morning and wait and wait and wait until it was finally seven. A little while after my sister set this up, they realized that the clock had a pre-set alarm which was going off at 6am each morning! Poor guy was waking to an alarm! They fixed that problem and he was a much later sleeper. Anyways, that isn't our problem here. Jenna has no clocks or alarms, just an early internal buzzer. It is especially painful on a Saturday morning. Hence me blogging so early on a Saturday. Hopefully we will be back to our normal soon.

We have been busy lately moving Jenna into her new bedroom. I will post some pictures when it is done, but that will be a while. We have a lot of work to do!

Thank you!!

We did it!  With your help we have decided on the name of our next precious little baby.  Although more than 50% of you voted for Abigail, we diverted from that.  Several of you chose Charis, another wonderful name.  But we decided against that one as well.

So you are probably asking, "If you didn't pick what we voted for, what help were we?"

Posting our top choices made us get serious about the decision process.  It forced us to think - we even got a baby name book from the library!  This book taught us how to match the first name with the last by syllables or by connecting sounds.  And all this education about naming a child didn't really help either.  BUT while looking at the book we decided to go onto this book's website and while on the website, we ran across a name we both instantly fell in love with.  So, long story short (actually this is becoming a short story long) our baby girl's name will be (drum roll please).....  Elsie Mae Wood

Elsie is from the name Elizabeth meaning "My God is a Promise", and the middle name Mae is Eric's mom's name.  So, just like Jenna, this baby girl has a very special name.

We reserve the right to change this name if we think of anything that could be negative.  But now you all officially have to say that you love the name we chose.  :)

The GINORMOUS zucchini

On the bottom is a normal sized, garden grown, delicious zucchini. On the top is a Wood grown, crazy large, picked a little late Wood Family zucchini. Crazy. I suppose if you leave them in the garden long enough they will just keep growing, but seriously! What are we going to do with 16" of pure zucchini?! And with these zukes came about 8 others, all a size somewhere between these two. And there are more coming!!! Does anyone have a bunch of zucchini recipes?

I seem to be "nesting" today

"Many pregnant women experience the nesting instinct, a powerful urge to prepare their home for the baby by cleaning and decorating. Or perhaps you'll want to tackle projects you haven't had time to do, like organizing your garage or closets."

Yes, this is true. What it means in our household is cleaning OUR closet, re-organizing the shelves above the washing machine, and buying drapes for the family room. None of which actually do anything to prepare for our baby girl. Oh well. That will come next. For now, I will head back to my closet and figure out what to do with all the clothes that don't fit!!! Bleh. Hmm, maybe I should skip the cleaning and just go maternity shopping...

HAHA!

Yesterday Jenna was brushing my hair.
When she was done I said, "My hair is messy!
But that's okay.  We all have messy hair days."
Jenna said, "I don't."

In case you haven't seen some of her best hair days, click here...

THE BEACH!!!

This last weekend Eric and I, along with six of our close friends, went the the beach! It was so much fun. I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. There was a point where I actually had to focus on NOT smiling because my cheeks were so sore. Anyways, here are some highlights from our trip...

E and I taking a self portrait at sunset.
The beautiful Oregon Coast
The men being men, starting the fire.
The men being boys, building a sandcastle!
The finished project. They were very proud, as were their wives.
Lunch at Mo's! Yummy.
The other highlight of the trip was the "Real Men of Genius" song that was composed around 1am (Earl, the PTD). It could be submitted as a radio ad and be one of their best. Anyways, we had a great time. Thanks friends for all the fun!
