Weston Drake Glover

Sweet little Weston Glover was born last night around 5pm to proud parents Ryan and Jenne, and proud brothers Davis and Jackson (and proud extended family too!) Everyone is doing REALLY well, and Weston is just adorable. Here are some pictures of our visit this morning. Davis made Weston a card that said, "Happy Birthday! I like how you were just born." And Jackson is as proud as can be, stating, "the baby isn't kicking anymore!" (meaning that the baby isn't in Jenne's tummy anymore). Jenna held her arms out like she was going to catch a ball and said, "I hold the baby please?" The kids were so sweet with this little one. So far Weston is a very mellow baby, sleeping a lot of course. It will be so fun to get to know him more as the months and years go by.

So much to post...so little time!

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving with our relatives in San Jose! The time went too fast. It is always so good to be with Eric's family down there. I wish I could post ALL about it, but I have a few very busy days (or few weeks!) coming up. You see, my sweet sister is going to be induced tomorrow morning! What that means for me is babysitting the boys for a few days, and then spending a lot of time at Jenne's house with the kids to help once Ryan goes back to work. And once Jenne goes back to work, I will be babysitting all four kids a few times a week! I am so excited, but boy is it going to be a busy season!

So, back to Thanksgiving! It was a weekend full of amazing food, WONDERFUL family, super fun games, more food, more family, and even more games. We didn't do the traditional Wood Family Annual Pinnochle Tournament, but we haven't actually had the tournament since '04 when it was first born. Poppy and I came in second that year, only because Jake and Brian had a system worked out between them (some would call it cheating!!). But we did play tons of Pinnochle, tons of class struggle (aka social stratification), a game of yuker, some golf, and many other card games. Here are some pictures of the fun...

Here we are playing games at Poppy Sam and Aunt Neva's house.

This is at the winery that Brian works at. It was up in the mountains. We had to drive up this really cruvey road to get there. Jenna kept saying, "Weeeee!", as though it was a roller coaster ride! The rest of us were just doing our best to not get car sick!

After that, we went to Brian and Katie's house, which is also up in the mountians. It was like a retreat home, with an amazing view. Beautiful. They have a kitty, which Jenna ADORED! She kept saying, "come here kitty, here kitty!" She LOVED that cat. As we left their house, Eric said, "I know what we are getting Jenna for Christmas." We'll see.

Jenna hanging out with the girls.

Dancing with Auntie Keri...

We didn't get very many pictures, but that at least covers some of our time in San Jose. I will post more pictures if anyone sends me some. Thanks for such a wonderful weekend! We miss you and can't wait to see you again!

Another one on the way...

Within about a week, these two cutie pies will have a new baby brother! Before welcoming the new one, I thought I would post a few memorable shots of Davis and Jackson, when they were just babies themselves.

Davis as our ring bearer - he wasn't even two yet! He had to crawl up on stage. He did such a great job!

Sweet little Jackson, asleep sucking his thumb.

Davis, cooling off on a hot day in July. He was also cleaning off after a very messy popsicle incident!

Jackson, laughing, probably at Davis!

We welcome you, new baby Glover. You are coming into a pretty special little family.

Thankful...

for my husband who takes care of me, loves me, forgives me, and cherishes me.

for my baby girl who is healthy, loving, playful, and fun.

for my extended family who loves, helps, teaches us by example, and is a daily blessing in my family's life.

for our friends who are fun to be with, and who we can be serious and honest with.

for the basics - food, shelter, clothing - things that I often forget to be thankful for.

and most of all, to God in heaven who made me his child, calls me to holiness, and blesses me with hope and grace.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Christmas weekend!

It was a Christmas weekend for the Woods! First the lights, and then cookie decorating! I taught (more like facilitated) a cookie decorating clinic for little kids at my parents work this weekend, and brought home some of the left overs for Jenna to enjoy! It was pretty fun! She mostly liked licking the frosting. There is another cookie clinic on December 9th if anyone is interested in bringing your kids! I am the teacher :)

Now I am trying to back up and think about Thanksgiving! We are so exciting for this upcoming holiday! Lots of pictures and posts to come!

Christmas Lights!

It was the perfect (but really cold!) weekend to put up Christmas lights for the first time on our home. It was a family event (well, Eric did most all the work, but Jenna and I tried to do our part). It looks awesome. We might add some lights on trees later...we'll see.

Jenna was such a helper! Here she is holding the lights for Dad.

"Daddy's up high!"

More layers and a new activity added.

Look at how straight they are! I'm impressed.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks Mom!

My mom is SO thoughtful! Today, I was really busy and a little stressed out about not having anything fancy to wear to an event we are going to this evening. Well, she took time out of her day to leave work, buy me some clothes, bring them to me, and then watch the kids while I try them on! SUPER THOUGHTFUL!

I think that I appreciate my mom more and more as the years go on. She raised me with love, support, and care. I could go on an on, but two kids just woke up from their naps...an hour early...so I better go. (My mom told me that I stopped napping at age two. Sorry about that mom.)

Does anyone else want to share about their growing love and appreciation for their mom?

Great weekend

Eric and I were blessed this weekend by being able to attend the Family Life Conference. If you ever have a chance to go, GO! It was awesome. It was nice to have the whole weekend away from our wonderful baby girl to simply focus of improving our marriage. It is a conference that we would like to attend every 5 or so years to keep us on track. We missed Jenna (but not until about Sunday afternoon). And it is GOOD to miss our kids a little bit. Jenna was super hyper when we arrived to pick her up. She had SUCH a great time with her Grandma and Grandpa. Thanks again Mom and Dad! Thanks also to our wonderful friends who made it possible for us to be there! We love you guys!

These pictures are from Friday. We tried to take some good pictures, but they didn't turn out as well as we hoped. Pictures of a 1 1/2 year old are almost impossible to take. Oh well :) They will sit still someday, right?

A little Glimpse

Here's what Jenna is up to lately...

Counting:
"One, two, FIVE, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, sixteen, eighteen, eighteen, eighteen!"

ABCs:
"abcdefghijklmnop (speeds up dramatically) qrstuvwxyz (even faster) now I know my abcs next time won't you sing with me!"

She often asks her Hokey Pokey Elmo if he needs to go "poo-poo potty" because at the end of his dance he says, "that was fun, Elmo's pooped!" Thankfully he is too heavy for her to lift onto the toilet by herself.

She calls me "mingy" and her dad "okie" every once in a while. Those are the names lovingly given to us by our nephews. I guess she hears us called ming and okie a lot.

Right now she is playing with playdough and saying, "rollllllll em, and paaaaat em, and mark em with a B!"

Just a little glimpse for ya. Have a great weekend!

Silly Jenna

Who needs hired help when you have this girl around! What a gem, sweeping in her Sunday dress.

She loves to help with the housework, and I love to have her help. Sure, it slows me down a little bit, but it is such great quality time with my baby girl.

Today has been such a stormy, warm day. Jenna was DESPERATE to go outside, so finally I let her. I learned one valuable thing - her jacket is more of a wind breaker than a raincoat. After about 7 minutes of blowing bubbles in the wind, I brought her in, got her out of her wet outfit, put her in some warm pjs, gave her a cup of warm milk and then put her down for a nap.

Oh, and I finally cut her bangs. We decided that she would never see anything if we didn't do something about it. So, here she is...with her fresh new haircut!

A Day with Emily...

is sooo much fun.

Yesterday we spent all day with our dear friends Chris and Bronwyn and their daughter Emily. Em is two weeks younger than Jenna so it has been fun to watch them grow up together. We met Chris and Brony in California at the church we went to in Fullerton for 6 months. This is the same church where we met Casey and Kara who now live in Gresham! Such good friendships were made in such a short time at that church. Those friends and that church helped make our time in Fullerton totally worth it! Anyways, our day was so much fun. We started at Safari Sams in Sherwood. What a place! There was the biggest indoor play structure ever! The kids had a blast bringing us to places we couldn't fit through. Boy were we sweating after this. There were tunnels, ropes, holes, jumping areas...and it was a maze which we all got lost in at one time or another! Here are some pictures of the hilarity.

After the kids were tired of Safari Sams (okay, okay, the adults were the ones who were tired) we headed to Chris and Brony's for lunch, naps, and more playtime. Everyone needed a nap, but only the kids took one.

More fun was had when we turned on the music and brought out the pom-poms (the Tiki Tiki Tiki room oh the Tiki Tiki Tiki room...). Then off to dinner at Sweet Tomato (man that place is great!) and then home. Jenna fell asleep on the drive home, at about 6:15, exhausted from the full fun day! Thanks Chris and Brony! Let's do it again soon!

More cousin fun-time

Jackson is saying, "This is my friend Davis."

Somebody is missing.

Cousins saying, "Cheese"

Basket fun

I have noticed quite a few "kids in baskets" pictures lately, so I thought I would post our little basket case (ha) as well. She spent a good 25 minutes playing in this basket.

She would carefully climb in...

hide...

and read.

This is her "cheese" face.
